"The creed is the spiritual seal, our heart's meditation and an ever-present guardian, it is, unquestionably, the treasure of our soul."
St.Ambrose, The Catechism of the Catholic Church 197.
The Creed is a fundamental part of our Catholic faith. It provides a summary of our beliefs as handed down by the apostles. May we never tire of reciting it as a source of hope and life itself.
"I believe in one God, the Father, Almighty, maker of heaven and earth and in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, died and buried, descended into hell. The Third day he rose again from the dead, He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of the saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen."
